Situational Marketing : Market Your Business to Your Target Audience Using News Feeds

Situational marketing has been a part of many successful online businesses since the beginning. It is marketing designed around an individual consumer’s situational requirements and goals. It is about identifying the influencing factors that either support or impede these goals and then tailoring the message to fit these situations. For example, if a person is looking for a house to rent, the situation is totally different from when someone is looking for a house to buy. As the latter goal is much easier to achieve, the former requires a completely different approach.

What Is Situational Marketing?

To understand it, you need to understand two things. The first thing is that there are many sources of online content. The second thing is that some people use this content to influence others to do something. Therefore, the first thing we will discuss is using social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook to be the main thing.

How To Better Understand Social Media Network Marketing Strategy

One of the easiest ways to make your online marketing efforts work is to make sure that all of your content is focused on a single theme. This means that all of your content should be about the same thing. For example, if you have an account on Twitter, all of your posts and replies should be about the company or product that you are promoting. If you have a news feed on your Facebook page, all of your messages should be about that news feed or post.

Another way to make your situational marketing efforts work is to get in on the conversation. Of course, the main goal here is to promote your business, but getting into a conversation with people who are interested in the niche that you are promoting is a great way to get started. One of the easiest ways to accomplish this is to start using a trending topic in your status updates or tweets. This will allow you to get into conversation with other people who are also following along with the same trend as you are.

Using Your Friends For Situational Marketing

The last strategy that is very similar to using situational marketing to promote your company is to do it with the help of your friends. If you are promoting one product or service after another in your personal accounts, then why not try using that same strategy on social media sites? You can also use a news feed to bring your target audience to posts that are related to your niche. If you have a few friends who are also tweeting about their interest in certain things, you could invite them over to try out your latest product or service and get their take on it.

If you are using this strategy, you should make sure that all of your content is about your product or service that you are promoting, but you need to be careful about what you are posting. Just because you are using a trending topic as a part of your situational marketing does not mean that you can’t come out ahead by using a few smart words in your tweets. You will want to make sure that your news feeds are not posting any controversial news stories or anything that could be offensive to your target audience. This can hurt you more than helping you.

Another great way to utilize situational marketing is to start a conversation around a current event. Everyone loves a good discussion, especially now that everyone has their phones on the go. All you have to do is make sure that you are using a trending topic as part of your news feed and then start having a good old fashion discussion about the issues at hand. You don’t have to do it all in one 140-character space. In fact, if you can post some of the dialogue in a separate tweet, then that would be ideal.

Topics To Avoid

Whatever you do, make sure that your main thing is to stay away from controversy or controversial topics. People love to read about that, but they will stop listening to you within minutes. So if you are promoting your business, make sure that all of your posts are about your company or its products. As long as the content is helpful to your target audience and it doesn’t happen to be offensive in any way, then your marketing will be a huge success.
