Rome is the richest city in Georgia, with a median household income of $59,037. Located in Floyd County, Rome’s population is about 53,000 people and it has a land area of 9.5 square miles (24 km2). The City Hall building was built in 1870 and houses city offices as well as community events such as an annual fair held each year on Labor Day weekend.
